All classes at Yoga in the Vines help build strength, flexibility,
concentration and mental clarity, relaxation, and a sense of peace and calm.
Hatha 1:
Basic class with an emphasis on the fundamentals of breath, alignment
in the postures, and relaxation. Students build strength,
flexibility, and stamina. Introduction to Vinyasa (flowing)
sequences. Excellent for newer students and any student looking
to refine technique.
Hatha 1-2:
These classes introduce more challenging poses while offering
variations to make poses accessible to all students. More Vinyasa
sequences with continued focus on fundamental alignment and breath
work. Excellent class for all students seeking a greater
challenge.
Hatha 2: These classes assume students have a working knowledge of basic poses and move at a faster pace to allow students to move deeper into their practice. Offers challenging poses such as inversions, arm balances and deep back bends. 18 months regular yoga practice or instructor permission required.
Flow: A fluid, moving series of poses designed to create heat in the body. Be prepared to sweat, a small towel is recommended.
Community Class: This class is for locals at a discounted price. Great way to start your day off the day with warming up and stretching. All levels welcome. $8 cash or punch cards may be allowed. Currently not on schedule.
Pre&Postnatal:
Designed to support mothers and help prepare for labor by keeping the
body flexible, finding focus through breath, connecting with baby, and
trusting natural instincts. Helps new mothers ease back into
exercise and to reconnect with their body. Not currently available. Level 1 classes suggested with instructor knowledge and modification. Currently not offered.
Restorative: Restorative Yoga is a therapeutic style of yoga which utilizes props to make it easier for the body to get into certain poses, and thus, surrender to the pose. Practicing poses using props provides a completely supportive environment for total relaxation.
Gentle Yoga: This class is designed for all students, all levels. It will be 1 hour of breathing techniques with gentle movement of the body. This will aide in relaxation and reducing stress. This calming practice will allow the mind to settle as the body opens and receives.
Intro to Yoga Workshops:
Learn the basic "how-to's" of Hatha Yoga including: Pranayama (breath),
Asana (poses) and alignment, sun salutations, relaxation, etiquette,
and question and answer session. Upon completion, students are
prepared to enter any Level 1, Gentle Yoga or Restorative class. New
students only. Pre-registration of 24 hrs. in advance and payment required to reserve
your spot in class.
