I initially started "doing" yoga because I wanted to be more flexible. After several years, I realize that I "practice" yoga because it helps me in being incredibly focused, yet with a calm mind, not just in studio but in all areas of my life. And.....not to mention it makes you darn strong! As one of my yogi friends likes to quote "strong arms, soft heart" -We love Vinyasas! Namaste.

I feel so much better when I walk out of a class at Yoga in the Vines than when I walked in.

Since coming to Yoga in the Vines and doing yoga, this is the first that I have liked my body in a long time.
Susan E., physical therapist
Yoga in the Vines really helps to relieve all the aches and pains I feel in my body from the work that I do.

Your classes are so healing for me!

Thank you for the wonderful (inversions & AcroYoga) workshops
- I was so pumped after the inversion workshop, probably one of the
best inversion workshops I've been to. Very relaxed and very well
instructed. (Betty) had never even experienced AcroYoga, so she
was very excited and came away awed by Paige's knowledge, her strength
and that we had so much fun.
Thanks,
really, thanks for hosting the workshops, your place lends itself so well with the size and good energy!

I
can't tell you how much my 15 year old daughter, Alyssa, and I enjoy
your Yoga studio and your style of Yoga. In such a short amount
of time you are making a difference in both of our lives physically,
emotionally and mentally. After the last class Alyssa felt like
she was in the same "state" as she feels after a deep massage. I
have also felt the same way after your classes.

Its
been so wonderful to be here because I don't have the courage to do
anything else. Every time I leave here I feel so wonderful.
Your place is so awesome, clean, and uncluttered. The teachers
are awesome and the environment elates
me!

I
did not fully appreciate the benefits of my Yoga practice until I went
on vacation and did not find time to practice for 8 days. As the
progressed, I found myself with little energy during the days and
enduring insomnia during the nights. My body became increasingly
stiff and achy, especially my neck and legs. The first class when
I got back was heaven - I walked in feeling like hell and walked out
feeling wonderful!

(approx. 7 months pregnant,
speaking of prenatal yoga) My back has barely hurt a bit this week and the only thing I can think I've done
differently is the yoga class.

I wanted to thank you for the wonderful workshop yesterday.(Hip Openers for Everyone with Jeanne Heileman) It was one of the best I've experienced in my over 10 years of yoga practice. Jeanne is truly an inspirational teacher. I hope she will return to your lovely center.

Years ago, in my thirties and forties, I thoroughly enjoyed high and
low impact aerobics. Now in my fifties, with stress injuries from
all my fun, I must humbly serve my body with reverence, patience and
sensitive awareness. I have "taken yoga" from other places and
learned that one size does not fit all - especially when a tweaked knee
or wrenched back derails the rest of my life. I yearned for a
combination of convenience of location and schedule, a setting evoking
peace, kindness and serenity along with instructors who were truly
interested in providing and encouraging me and my uniqueness a safe,
healthy, resonating yoga experience.
Combine the tranquility of the beautiful studio with the slow and
deepening yoga style. In
needing to honor and cooperate with joint restrictions and care, I am
finding such pleasure and definite improvement in my strength and
flexibility with the slow, deepening stretches.
Everyone's unique body is encouraged to adjust to a pose that feels
"right" for them so that the deepening in to a stretch continues to
provide for a truly meditative and healing in my muscles without fear
of injury. I find, by being able to relax while being supported
for 3 - 5 minutes, I am able to deepen my breathing and feel safe to
let go and allow my muscles to trust the process. At
the end of each session, I am blissfully energized and in peace.
My pace is "slow and lumbering" like
the bear and my body is truly appreciating a yoga style that strives for slow and deepening.
I feel honored and cared for without any pressure to do or be more than
I am currently capable. Namaste.

I have had chronic back pain for over 5 years. This has left me
unable to do many things that I once enjoyed. I was on a regiment
of chiropractic and pilates and they helped slightly.
What
turned the tide and changed everything was taking a yoga class on a
regular basis. It was gradual & I hardly noticed until I
found myself actively working in my long neglected garden.
I sat there knee deep in mud and weeds and realized I did not hurt!! I was so happy I cried. Thank you so much.

Exercise
usually feels like a chore to me. Going to the gym is always
something I have to force myself to do - the thought of putting on
those tight shorts or sports bra is really uninviting. When I
stared doing yoga at Yoga in the Vines, I quickly realized that yoga was
totally different. After class I feel calm and relaxed, and the
tension in my muscles is gone. When I was getting ready for my
second yoga class, I was even excited to get into the soft and
comfortable clothes I wear for yoga (sometimes my pajama
bottoms). I look forward to class every week because everything
about it feels good.

As a very physically person, I have had several injuries that have left
me with chronic problems (cervical radiculopathy, posture problems and
poor range of motion in my neck). In addition, I have been a
nurse for 23 years and moving equipment or lifting patients has taken a
toll on my back. So, I decided to try yoga for my New Year's
Resolution. C
Classes are just the right
mix of relaxation, meditation, stretching, balance control, and core
muscle strength work. I have already noticed that my flexibility
has increased and my neck and back pain have decreased
tremendously! I look forward to Yoga every week as a healthy
break from the stressors of life and work.

My
job requires a lot of lifting and being on my feet. At the end of
the day I usually have tight shoulders, tight hamstrings, and a sore
lower back. Yoga in the Vines is my haven. The classes are adjusted to work on students' tight spots and the next day I
always feel amazing!!! I would highly recommend the class to
anyone for their health, strength, relaxation, and positive outlook.
